Boingo Wireless To Operate Wifi Hotspot Networks At Six U.K. Airports
Boingo Wireless (the US Wifi Hotspot network operator/aggregator) has announced that it is to start managing Wifi Hotspots at six UK Airports. In addition Boingo will open a new London office.
Boingo have signed an exclusive deal with BAA taking over from the shared operator model that has been in place up to now.
Ian Denchfield, Head of Commercial Telecoms for BAA said:

“BAA’s UK airports are the crown jewels of hotspots in the British Isles, we intend to bring our full complement of expertise to bear in ensuring travelers have an optimal Wi-Fi experience when flying into, out of, or through the UK and on to their final destinations.
“BAA’s decision brings those travelers access to not only six airports in the UK, but also more than 125,000 hotspots around the world with a single account,” added Hagan.
The Six UK Wifi Hotspot Airports are:
- London Heathrow (LHR)
- London Stansted (STN)
- Glasgow (GLA)
- Edinburgh (EDI)
- Aberdeen (ABZ)
- Southampton (SOU)
